My Roots in Gardening
Growing up, I was immersed in the world of gardening. My grandparents maintained an incredible garden in their backyard, complete with a sprawling vegetable garden and orchard that has thrived for over 60 years. My grandmother tended to most of these beautiful spaces, and her passion for gardening ignited my own interest in this art.
Additionally, my great grandfather left an indelible mark as a noted conservationist. His legacy includes contributing to the creation of several parks in the Kent, Ohio area. In fact, there’s a trail along the Cuyahoga River named after him, honoring his 50+ years of conservation work. It’s from his legacy that I drew inspiration when naming my business, after his nursery that operated in Kent during the 1950s-1970s: Stonewall Garden Nurseries.
My Mission
Living in such a beautiful area, with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park as our neighbor, I recognize the importance of reintroducing natural beauty into our suburban landscapes. Rather than settling for mundane lawns, my passion lies in transforming them into captivating gardens, utilizing native plants whenever possible. As stewards of the land, we can create stunning landscapes that benefit both people and nature.
